In the long history of development, paper art has also provided much new design inspirations in packaging design.
No matter how delicate paper packaging is, it will inevitably become household waste in the end. Therefore, in the design process of paper packaging, we should integrate the characteristics of paper packaging and consider its additional functions and recycling issues. Mainly through the rationalization of packaging design, paper packaging can give packaging more new application functions on the basis of increasing the added value of commodities and protecting commodities, so as to improve the circulation value and service life of paper packaging, it is a new requirement for packaging designers.
On the basis of reasonable design, the designer combines paper packaging with the additional functions of commodities, so that it has more functions except packaging and is conducive to the direct use of consumers, and ultimately effectively expands the application value of packaging paper. For the continued promotion and deepening of the use of paper packaging, designers are required to carry out detailed and thorough research and analysis on packaging paper, structural modeling, and other aspects during design, and use the design process to fully demonstrate the aesthetics, economy, and efficiency of new packaging functions, such as the gram weight, thickness, stiffness, etc. For example, the weight of the packaged ivory board, which requires stiffness, should better be more than 300gsm, and high-bulk GC1 with high loose thickness is not suitable for folding.
We generally think that packaging is just an accessory to the commodity, and it loses its value after the commodity passes through. However, many designers, consumers or manufacturers today use a variety of different forms to realize the reuse of packaging out of consideration for environmental protection. On this basis, the designer also uses innovative design thinking to endow the packaging with a longer use process, more effectively realize the green design concept, organically combine the practical functions of packaging and commodities, and promote paper packaging to become an integral part of the commodity circulation process, rather than an appendix of the sales and transportation process.
